ISCOL CAMPAIGN FOR COMPTROLLER PUTS OUT FIRST MAILER STRESSING LEADERSHIP AND SERVING EVERYDAY NEW YORKERS, NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS

NEW YORK CITY: May 4, 2021 — Zach Iscol is running for NYC Comptroller to hold City government accountable and serve the people, not the special interests or politicians. Yesterday, Zach Iscol’s first mailer started hitting mailboxes stressing:

    • The need to get NYC through this pandemic-triggered crisis and on a path to real recovery without cutting public services;
    • Performing audits to root out waste and fraud so we can pay for priorities, like effective vaccine rollout, public safety, and job growth;
    • Tackling the City’s mental health crisis by making sure real and effective services, not ineffective PR campaigns masquerading as programs, get the funding and attention they need.

New Yorkers are hurting and they need to know that their Comptroller is fighting to make every single tax dollar count. Last year Comptroller Stringer only found $31 million in savings for the City through audits. Meanwhile, as Mayor de Blasio warned of up to 22,000 layoffs of municipal workers last fall, New York City was paying $163 million in consulting fees to some of the world’s biggest corporations.

The City of New York needs a leader who understands what it means to serve others, someone who will roll up their sleeves and finally bring the City forward into the 21st Century. That person is Zach Iscol.
